Front porch visitors

Once again, the ferns on the front of the Historic Bryant House have become the home for a nest of wren eggs.  Every year a fern has been chosen for the site of future birds.   At the top of a porch column by the steps is a small red, wooden birdhouse that has been the home of a wren for several years.  When anyone is on the porch, the wren likes to come out and talk.  Not sure if she’s scolding and telling us to behave or if the conversation is a friendly one.  Needless to say, I enjoy sitting on the original couch, reading a diary and listening to what she has to say.
